Regeneration processes of the musculature
The satellite cells of the muscle tissue guarantee regeneration processes of the musculature. They are found at the surface of the mature muscle fibers under the basal membrane. The origin of the satellite cells is not entirely clear. The newest research provides indications that these stem cells come from the vascular system. Other researchers assume that they are myoblast remnants that have retained their division capability and thus guarantee the regeneration of muscle tissue.
